What is Trust?
- Belief in moral probity, sincerity, loyalty, competence, discretion, etc. someone else's; credit, faith.
"have deep confidence in a friend" - Belief that something will not fail, that it is well done or strong enough to do its job.
"it has confidence on the brakes to run like that?"
How do I exercise my trust in God?
When we love and know more about God, we find that we can always trust Him, even in situations that seem impossible to resolve. Putting our trust in God is putting our lives in His hands, in the security that, if we follow His will, He has the best for us. These verses will help you to trust God more, in all areas of your life:
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress,
and my deliverer,
my God, my rock,
in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my salvation,
my stronghold.
Psalm 18:2
There is no one stronger than God! When your life is in the hands of God, you have a solid security, like a rock. In fights, He is like a fortress, who protects its occupants from enemy attacks. There is no safer place than in the presence of God.
Behold, God is my salvation;
I will trust, and will not be afraid;
for the LORD GOD is my strength and my song,
and he has become my salvation.
Isaiah 12:2
God is the guarantee of your salvation. When you believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose again, and receive you as the Lord of your life, He saves you from the eternal punishment of sin. If He can make you holy and reverse death, how much more can He take care of you!
In thee our fathers trusted;
they trusted,
and thou didst deliver them.
Psalm 22:4
When your confidence in God is weak, remember everything He has done in the past. In the Bible, you find many accounts of how God was faithful to His people and changed lives. He remains the same today. When God was faithful to other people who gave their lives to Him, God will be faithful to you.
Some boast of chariots, and some of horses;
but we boast
of the name of the LORD our God.
Psalm 20:7
We often fall into the errors of putting all our trust in other things, such as wealth, power or human strength. But these things fail. They do not serve as a good foundation for our lives. God is different. He is our strength in weakness and He never leaves us in time of need.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and do not rely
on your own insight.
Proverbs 3:5
God's promises do not fail. When you trust God with all your heart, He guides your life and teaches you the right way. God's plans for your life are good! Do not be afraid to take the step of faith and hand over every area of your life to Him. You will find that this is the best decision you can make.
Put your trust in God and be blessed!
